The Words I Heard From My Mother

“Goodbye, watch those kids good!” Those were the words I heard from my mother every single day of every summer from the time I was thirteen to the day I moved out. It wasn’t that my mom wanted to be gone all the time, but she had no choice but to work. The money she made barely covered the bills and the food, so she couldn’t afford to pay for daycare when I was home. If there had been such a thing as the Internet and email marketing in those days, things would have been a lot different. She had hundreds of awesome ideas that she could have marketed.
