Building a pond in your backyard or on your property is a pretty fun project. If you do a little planning the pond construction can go smoothly. Half the battle is knowing what kind of soil you have to work with and what kind of a layout you want to have in the pond. A good plan that includes aeration and waste removal is essential. Good aeration is the key to the ponds health, that is the part that most home owners know nothing about. There are a lot of really good books on the subject. A day spent at the book store or on Amazon will give you a good education fast.
